The simplicity of pally healing makes the calculations easier.. but you can do the same calculations with any healing class. In all cases the evaluation of Gear A vs Gear B becomes a question of how the change in gear effects your mana regen or the size of your heals.

Priest Healing Spreadsheet:

The value of gear pieces change as your stats change. It also changes depending on the fight.

I agree Nibuca, that's a beautiful spreadsheet for choosing pally gear. The pally stat/gear matrix is fun because it's just two spells and basically one build to optimize for.

I might be reading this wrong, but it's interesting that the final result of comparing two pieces of gear is "duration of fight until these two pieces are equally useful". A is better than B if the fight goes on this much time. After messing with it just a bit, it becomes clear that the majority of the time, the numbers tell you that one is always better than the other. (although not all the time) Still, this is a little different than the binary "yes, it's better" answer that dps people get.

Good for pallies though, thanks for the link.
